Ahh, the glamorous world of Duck Crossing Guards. Such excitement! Such adventure!

So, there's this comic book called "The Goon." I've lookd at it before, but I never cared for it. It always seemed like a weak cross between the old Mad comic book and Eisner's The Spirit, with a bit of the Looney Toons thrown in for luck. This week, the guy at the comic shop insisted that my brother had to read the comic. He gave my brother a free copy just to get him to read it. I read it last night, and... it's good!
Today's drawing started as a swipe from this page. However, I was getting annoyed at how poorly it was coming out, so I did the right thing and quit abruptly instead of trying to fix it. THAT'LL HELP ME LEARN TO DRAW!

You know how sometimes you'll be drawing the Martian Manhunter's head, but you think it would be funny to draw him with a tiny little girl's body, but it ends up looking sort of like a cartoon alien body anyway. That's exactly what happened here:

Also: everybody knows that bigheaded Martians with tiny bodies love Almond Roca. Duh.
Inspired by last night's viewing of the amazing film "Exorcist: The Beginning." Note: by "amazing," I mean "it's amazing that anyone ever filmed the poop sack of a film, let alone released it." DO. NOT. SEE. THIS. MOVIE.
Also: It's no surpise that this demon person is upset- her mouth is off center!

I think everyone should have some birthday cake today. Go find some cake today.

Continuing the "Li'l Rocky Horror Picture Show" thing:

So, here's what I think: There just aren't enough cartoons for children based on midnight movies. My solution: The L'il Rocky Horror Kids! The first generation of Rocky Horror Picture Show fans will be just the right age to have kids to watch it! Here we see L'il Magenta:

It's going to be HUGE. All I need now is a lot of money, the rights to the characters, an animation studio, and a network to show it- it's practically a done deal!!!
Y'know, sometimes when I draw these things, it's the very end of the day. I'm really tired, and don't have the energy to create something worth looking at. I've literally fallen asleep in the middle of drawing. But not last night. Last night, I was just lazy.

Impressive, no? No.
First I drew this:

See- it's almost funny!
Then I drew this, and I like it much better, even though it makes even less sense than the first one:

Bonus Art Tip: Don't draw right next to the spine of a bound book- you can't scan it without either destroying the book or leaving an annoying distorted edge.

So, here's what happened with this one: I decided to draw some sort of "Action Pose." I drew the pointing guy so low on the page that his feet wouldn't fit. I do this a lot- it's not because drawing decent looking feet is difficult (even though that's also true- look at the potatoes at the end of the kid's legs), but because I suck at figuring out proportions, and I end up making the body the wrong size. I should draw tiny pictures on huge paper.
Then I decided I wanted Pointing Guy to be pointing at a kid. Well, he's not pointing low enough, so I had to move the kid higher, which is why he gets a "Charlie Brown pitcher's mound" thing to stand on.
Also: The "deformity" Pointing refers to is just the horrible proportions of his body, not some hidden, secret freakishness.
Also also: I believe this is the longest thing I've written here since I started drawing these things.
I started out with the eyes, then did the face, and finally the hair. If you look carefully, you'll notice that the drawing gets worse as I go along (you have to look carefully because it isn't exactly great to start out):

I was going to just put the guy with the hat up, but then I realized the jawas were right there, so I added them to the scan, and then there was that big head, so I added that... but nothing else. I have such amazing restraint.

If you like cats, and you like bad art, you'll love this!
BONUS: More Bad Cats!
These were both on the same page, but there was abig hunk of nothing between them. So I've split them apart, doubled the value, and passed the savings on to you!
I'm pretty sure there's another drawing around here where someone else says the same thing as Frankenstein's monster:
